The roughly 90 members of the DESY CMS group engage in different activities centred around the CMS Detector at the LHC. These activities include:

• the analysis of the data taken with the CMS Detector at the LHC
• taking part in the operation and commissioning of the CMS Detector
• working on the upgrade of the CMS Detector
• contributing to the computing infrastructure for the data storage and analysis
• more generic research and development
• and technology transfer                                                                                                                                                                                        

Several of our members were successful in applying for external grants and organized or participated in many workshops and conferences.
